Why Warm-Ups and Cool-Downs Deserve More Than Two Minutes
5 August 2026 4 min read
A rushed or skipped warm-up is one of the most common corners members cut when short on time — and one of the easiest ways to turn a normal training session into an injury.
Warm-ups prepare joints and raise body temperature
A few minutes of light movement increases blood flow and joint readiness, meaningfully reducing injury risk before higher-intensity work begins.
Cool-downs support recovery, not just flexibility
Gradually lowering intensity at the end of a session, rather than stopping abruptly, helps the body transition out of exertion more smoothly.
Building both into a standard workout plan — not leaving them as optional extras — is a small structural change that noticeably reduces avoidable injuries over time.
