Training Splits Explained: Full Body vs Push-Pull-Legs vs Body-Part Splits
New members often ask which training split is "best," expecting a single correct answer. The honest answer is that the best split is the one that matches how many days someone can actually, realistically train each week.
Full body: best for 2–3 days a week
Training the whole body each session makes the most of limited days, since every muscle group gets worked multiple times a week even with fewer total sessions.
Push-pull-legs: best for 4–6 days a week
Splitting sessions by movement pattern allows more volume per muscle group across a week, suited to members with more consistent gym time available.
Body-part splits: best for dedicated, high-frequency training
Focusing on one or two muscle groups per session works well for very experienced members training frequently, but tends to leave big gaps in recovery for anyone training fewer than five or six days a week.
Assigning a split that doesn't match a member's real schedule is one of the most common reasons a workout plan quietly gets abandoned within a month.
