Returning to Training After Physiotherapy: A Careful Restart
5 August 2026 4 min read
A member cleared by physiotherapy often wants to immediately resume their previous training level — which is exactly the pattern that leads to a large share of re-injuries.
Cleared for daily life isn't the same as cleared for heavy training
Physiotherapy clearance often means an injury is functionally healed for normal activity, not necessarily ready for the specific loads and movements of a previous training program.

Restarting at a noticeably lighter load and rebuilding progressively, even if it feels frustratingly slow, protects the actual recovery rather than risking undoing it.
