A muscle group a member can't see in the mirror is easy to under-train relative to muscles they can — which is exactly why back training quietly lags behind chest work for many beginners.
Pulling movements need both vertical and horizontal variety
Vertical pulls (like pull-downs) and horizontal pulls (like rows) train different parts of the back — a session leaning entirely on one leaves real gaps.
Mind-muscle connection matters more here than almost anywhere else
Because the back is harder to feel working than a muscle directly in view, deliberately focusing on the contraction during each rep meaningfully improves how effective the training actually is.
